Heather Lough of Vancouver, WA
Owner of Scrapdango
|
My name is Heather Lough, and I am the proud new owner of Scrapdango. I live in Vancouver, WA with my husband of 13+ years and my 3 kids. I met my husband in graduate school where we both were getting degrees in engineering and ended up working together for 5 years until I had our first child and "retired." I am now a SAHM, although I do teach fitness classes 4 times a week. I've always loved taking photos and putting together little scrapbooks in notebooks, but I reluctantly started scrapbooking as I know it now 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. I didn't want to get hooked on it, but it didn't take long for that to happen. I love the creative outlet, the way to highlight the photos that are so dear to me and to be able to tell my family's story. Since joining message boards like Scrapdango, I feel my scrapbooking has really evolved and improved due to all the encouragement, motivation and inspiration that I receive from all the members. I was part of the Scrapdango Design Team for over 1-1/2 years and then just recently began the new adventure as Scrapdango owner. I am very EXCITED about where this new venture will lead. |

Carrie is the founder of Scrapdango. She began scrapbooking about 10 years ago. Like so many scrapbookers, when a friend introduced her to scrapbooking she was immediately hooked! Because she is also a professional photographer focusing on wedding and senior portrait work in Portland area of Oregon, she had finally found the missing link - scrapbooking was the creative outlet that allowed her to show-off her great photography and express herself creatively. She spent many years working in business development and mangement. She had no idea how valuable her career experience and her passion for scrapbooking would be until years later. In 2005, it was clear that her special needs daughter with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Aspergers could no longer function in the public school system or childcare. She had to make significant life changes, many that were quite painful. However, she decided to view her circumstances as an opportunity for growth. She turned her professional business experience and passion for scrapbooking into a a way of life. You can't read the journaling on Carrie's layout but it is important, so here it is:
So much I have experienced in my life. When my time comes and I leave this earth, there are these few important truths that I hold dear.
Our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them.
Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.
A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.
Creativity takes courage!
Surround yourself with people who lift you higher.
Life is not measured by the Breaths we take, but by the Moments that take our Breath away...
this is who I am

Hi my name is Kerryn, I live in Adelaide, Australia with my partner and best friend, Shane and our super handsome four year old boy Harrison. I was a nurse before children, but now work part time in Administration. I started scrapping a few months after Harry was born in 2004, my Mother was the instigator after she started an album for Harry before we had even left hospital, which I absolutely adored. For the first 2 years, I worked on an album for my little princess, Bethany. She was born still in 2001. It was a beautiful way to preserve her memory and assist my healing process, this is a life long work in progress. In early 2007, I joined my first Aussie forum and entered their big 10 week contest, I began scrapping pages for Harrison and myself and really haven't looked back since. I love what I create, the thought process put into each page is so addictive and rewarding each and every time. I have grown so much in the past 12 months, but I hope to continue to grow. I am very excited to join the team here at Scrapdango and work amongst the amazingly talented girls.
