Carrie Leavitt
Founder and Owner of Scrapdango

In 2005, I made the very difficult choice to leave my job in professional program management and development.  I threw away my pantyhose and donated my expensive office wardrobe in exchange for a life of pictures, paper, eyelets, brads, and the love of scrapbooking.  I have also been professionally photographing weddings in the Portland Metro area of Oregon for more than 15 years and Ihad an overflowing abundance of precious and amazing photos of my family that were collecting in boxes.  When I was finally introducted to scrapbooking in 2000, like so many other women, I was immediately hooked.  I found scrapbooking to be a way to preserve my precious life memories, to express myself creatively and I found scrapbooking to be highly therapeutic in my life.  I have a two beautiful children, Scotty, who is 19 and Jovanna, who is 11.  My daughter has Aspergers (Autism Spectrum).  It's not always easy raising my daughter and doing a good job at it.   Scrapbooking has became an important part of my own self-care and has allowed me to focus on processing my life experience and remembering the good parts.

Scrapdango is a responsible community and business member, supporting the valuable work of organizations involved in creating supportive and educational avenues for parents of children with Austism Spectrum Disorders and Aspergers.
